WHO STARTED THIS
SITE?

Barb engaged in one of her favorite activities - reading aloud to her nephew
A bookworm. But a frustrated one, since I have so little time to read
anymore.
The wife of Kosta, an unwillingly retired physicist, who manages rental
properties, He helps me evaluate history and historical fiction to see if our company
wants to sell it, and helps answer the phone for the business when I can't.
The owner of Barb's People Builders,
a company that supplies books to teachers and parents who want educational materials and
excellent books for themselves and their children.
In the little free time I have, I enjoy writing,
gardening, talking with close friends, reading, collecting postcards, and
exploring new places -- especially used bookstores, small publishers of
history, and historical sites. I also enjoy baking, but hardly ever have time to do it
anymore.
We are members of the Covenent Presbyterian Church in Paso Robles, CA, a
part of the Presbyterian Church in America, and we want to please the Lord Jesus in the
way we run our personal and business lives.
We live in a very small house that is almost completely decorated with
books, in and out of cases and boxes. That's why we started a web page to sell the books we don't need
anymore so we can have shelf space for the ones we haven't read yet. Unfortunately,
selling these books only encouraged me to expand into the used book business, so now I
have an excuse to indulge in my most dangerous hobby -- going to garage sales.
We live on14 acres where lots of deer and gophers, lizards, snakes,
and other wild creatures are free to roam. We enjoy watching them when they come near,
though I don't especially enjoy having the skunk come close to the house. We had an
encounter one night that scared both of us, I think, and we both, after staring at each
other, figured out a way to escape without getting hurt.

We have one son who died in a jet-ski accident when he was 14 and a
daughter who has left the nest. We homeschooled them both for the last three years they
were with us. The picture above is of Jason panning for gold in the American River in
Sacramento as part of our study of California history. It was taken 11 months before he
died. It was something he'd always wanted to do.
